How to Troubleshoot the Fusion Stereo Bluetooth Connection

Fusion Bluetooth Connectivity Issue Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Ensure devices are within 30ft range in line of sight.

  2. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on and in Discoverable mode on both devices.

  3. Are both devices running the current versions of software?

    • Yes- Proceed to step 4

    • No- Proceed to step 5

  4. Walk through the Bluetooth pairing process per the units owners manual instructions.

    • If resolved, then no further steps are needed

    • If not resolved, proceed to step 6

  5. Update software on the head unit and mobile device.

    • After updating proceed to step 4

  6. If pairing still fails follow these steps:

    1. Remove previously paired devices from both the mobile device and unit

    2. Perform a factory reset on the unit (see below links for reset instructions)

    3. Reboot/Cycle power on both devices

    4. Attempt to pair again:

      • If resolved, then no further steps are needed

      • If not resolved, see additional troubleshooting steps listed below

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Make sure Airplane Mode is off

  2. Other devices can interfere with Bluetooth connections such as: Wi-Fi Hotspots, Inverters and USB 3.0 being connected

  3. Delete all pairings on both devices. There are limits to the number of Bluetooth pairings

  4. Battery level of the mobile device can affect pairing, ensure the charge is at least 50%

Additional iPhone/iOS Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure the Apple device supports Interface Accessory Protocol 2 (iAP2)

  2. This stereo is NOT compatible with iAP1 devices

  3. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and the latest operating software on the Apple device

  4. Make sure you are connected to the stereo before launching the Fusion-Link app

  5. Make sure you have the latest version of the Fusion-Link application on the Apple device

  6. Reset the Apple device
