MicroSD Memory Card Information for the Varia RCT715

The Varia™ RCT715 radar require a microSD card to record video or take pictures because the device does not have internal memory for storing files. When purchased new, the device includes a removable 16GB microSD card. 

MicroSD Card Specifications 

MicroSD cards can be purchased from Garmin or other retailers.

Extend the Life of the MicroSD Card

• Back up saved footage and format the memory card at least every 6 months.

  • For managing footage, refer to your owner's manual.

• Replace the memory card periodically due to the camera recording continuously.

• Turn off the device when not in use to prevent the camera from recording unnecessary footage. 

• Use a memory card with a higher storage capacity, 

  • Higher-capacity memory cards are overwritten less frequently and will usually last longer.

• Use a high-quality memory card with a speed rating of class 10 or higher.

• Purchase your replacement memory card from a high-quality manufacturer and a reputable vendor.
