Depth Range Numbers Reversed on a Garmin Chartplotter

Reversed Depth numbers Display

The depth numbers listed on the right side of the sonar graph indicate the range of depth displayed on the screen. The standard sonar screen will display the depth range starting from zero at the water's surface and continue down the right side until it reaches the bottom. If the bottom lock is selected, the depth numbers are reversed.

The bottom lock is a feature that zooms into the bottom of the sonar image. Depth numbers reverse when the bottom lock function is enabled. The depth range will start at 0 feet at the bottom of the screen and increase going up the side of the screen. To read depths from top to bottom, turn off the bottom lock.

Turn off Bottom Lock

To turn the Bottom Lock off, follow these instructions:

From within the sonar image Options > Zoom > toggle off the Zoom.

This will deactivate Bottom Lock and display the sonar image in its normal mode.
