Garmin Connect App: Sharing Your Garmin Connect Account

You can share your Garmin Connect™ account with another user using the Garmin Connect app. Sharing an account allows friends or family members to have full, read only, access to parts of your Garmin Connect account. To share your account, you will need to first add another Garmin Connect user as a Connection.

How Do I Share My Account With Another Garmin Connect User?

To enable read only access to another Garmin Connect user: 

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select Profile & Privacy.

  5. Select Authorized Viewers. 

  6. Select Add Authorized Viewer. 

  7. Follow onscreen prompts to search and add Connections or send a request to a current Connection. 


How Do I Stop Sharing My Account? 

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select Profile & Privacy.

  5. Select Authorized Viewers. 

  6. Select the authorized viewer you would like to remove access from.

  7. Select Revoke Access

  8. From pop up window, select Revoke Access. 


What Data Is Visible if I Share My Garmin Connect Account?

The following data is shared with authorized viewers of your Garmin Connect account: 

  • Activity and wellness data 

  • User profile information 

  • Training and planning data

  • Reports 


What Data Is Not Visible When Sharing My Garmin Connect Account?

Not all parts of an account are visible to an authorized viewer. Social related features that display another user’s account are not visible to authorized viewers. Additional information not visible includes:  

  • Newsfeed 

  • Diving

  • Groups

  • Challenges

  • Connections

  • Golf Leaderboard and Scorecards

  • Segments

  • Courses

  • Badges

  • Quickdraw 


Viewing A Connection’s Garmin Connect Account as an Authorized Viewer 

If you have been sent, and accepted, an account sharing request you can view the account by doing the following:  

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select Profile & Privacy.

  5. Select Authorized Viewers. 

  6. Choose the account you would like to view.

  7. Select View Account. 

  8. Acknowledge redirect pop up window by selecting Continue

You will be redirected to a web view of the chosen account. 


How Many Account Sharing Requests Can I Send? 

You can establish a maximum of 20 account sharing connections with other Garmin Connect users.  


Authorized Viewer Has a Sign-In Screen on Their Android Instead of Seeing My Account Details

For authorized users using an Android phone, you will need to make sure your phone's default browser matches the Garmin Connect apps selected browser. For details on how to do this see below:

  1. Open your Android Settings app.

  2. From the search bar at the top, search "Default".

  3. Select Default Apps.

  4. Set Browser App to match your Default App for opening links from the Garmin Connect app.

    1. Press and hold the icon for your preferred browser app (the one set as your default).

    2. Select Info.

    3. Select Open by Default.

    4. Select Clear Current Default Preferences.
