Creating, Editing, or Deleting a Trip on an Automotive Device using Trip Planner

Creating a multiple-point trip allows navigation among several points. Trips can be saved to the device's internal storage for use at a later date by using Trip Planner. The device will store up to 100 trips.

To Create a Trip

1. Touch Tools

2. Touch Trip Planner

3. Touch the Plus

4. Touch Select Start Location

Note: The Start Location is the first stop on the route. You can use your current location as the starting location, but it isn't necessary. The device will skip your current location if that is where you are when it begins to navigate.

5. Locate the desired starting point using the search options

6. Touch Select

7. Touch the Plus to add a second point

8. Follow steps 5 through 7 to locate and add up to 30 total points

  • To adjust the order of points as you add them, touch and hold on the point you'd like to move, then drag it to the desired location on the list
  • Touch to remove a point and touch Delete

9. Touch Next when all desired points have been added

10. Type a name for the route and touch Done. The device will now calculate.

The route is saved to the Trip Planner automatically.

Touch Go! to proceed with navigation.

To Edit or Delete a Route/Trip:

1. Touch Tools

2. Touch Trip Planner

3. Touch the name of the route you would like to edit

4. Touch

5. Select from the following options:

  • Edit Destinations: Add or remove points from the route
  • Optimize Order: Have the device calculate the most efficient order to travel to all the entered points
    • Note: The start point and endpoint will not be changed when optimized
    • Note: You must have at least four waypoints to optimize the order
  • Delete Trip: Removes the trip from Trip Planner
  • Rename Trip: Customize the name of the trip as it appears in Trip Planner

NOTE: To reverse the order of the trip, the order of points would need to be rearranged manually.  This would replace the trip originally entered and would not create a new trip.
