Using an SD card in my Garmin® Marine Chartplotter/Sounder to increase the memory for waypoints, routes, and tracks

All Garmin® Marine Chartplotters/Sounders use internal memory for storing user data like waypoints, routes, and tracks. Inserting an SD card into the device will not increase this memory as the user data needs to be stored in the internal memory of the device for it to be seen in the user data list.

An SD card can be used to backup user data or transfer new user data to the internal memory, but not store the data for the device to use.
