Left Handed Swing Detection With Approach Launch Monitors
The Approach® R10 and Approach® R50 launch monitors are designed to read swings from both right and left-handed golfers. See the information listed below for instructions on your device.
Approach® R10
If you are using the Approach R10 you can use the same alignment regardless of your handedness and no settings need to be changed.
For proper alignment of the device and troubleshooting radar features, see: Tips for Indoor or Outdoor Approach R10 Placement
Approach® R50
If you are using the Approach R50, the alignment of the launch monitor will depend on the handedness set in your Garmin Account. Regardless of whether you are right-handed or left-handed, always make sure that the ball is in between you and the launch monitor.
For proper alignment of the device and troubleshooting tips, see: Tips for Approach R50 Placement
To change your handedness in your Garmin Account on the Approach R50, follow the steps below:
Press the menu button in the lower-right corner.
Select Settings.
Select Profile.
Select Handedness.
You can now choose between Left-handed and Right-handed.
How Metrics Appear in the Garmin Golf™ App
The club metrics will show images of right-handed clubhead as a point of reference in the Golf Sim Sessions. This does not mean it is reading your shots as a right-handed golfer.
