Automotive Device Doesn't Have Any Sound
There are a few settings that can be checked if your automotive device does not have any sound. The first thing to check is whether the volume or master volume is set to an audible level.
To Check the Volume or Master Volume:
- Touch the Volume icon on the Where To? View Map screen.
- Confirm the volume is set to the desired level and it is not muted.
Check the volume levels within the mixer to make sure they are set to an audible level.
To View the Device's Volume Levels Within the Mixer:
- Touch the Volume icon on the Where To? and View Map screen.
- Touch the Wrench icon or slider icon.
- Touch the Audio Mixer.
- Audio Mixer is available only on Bluetooth compatible devices after the phone has been paired to the device.
- Confirm the desired volume for any that apply: Navigation, Media, Phone, Alert Tones, Camera Alerts.
The volume level should now be set to the desired level. Change the voice to ensure the preset voice is not faulty if the device is still not providing spoken instructions.
Removed the Powered Mount
Remove the mount if your device has a powered mount with an aux port. Once the mount is removed, see if the audio comes out of the device speaker.
To Change the Voice Language:
- Touch Settings.
- Touch Language & Keyboard.
- Touch Voice Language.
- Touch the desired language.
- Touch Save.
The device will now speak the selected language.
The language files may need to be updated on your device if changing the voice language resolves the issue. See Missing or Corrupt Voice Files on an Automotive Device for instructions.
Ensure you are running the latest software with Garmin Express. See the Software section under your device in Support Center for instructions.
