Garmin Addresses Issues Related to the Ending of Daylight Saving Time

Below are two issues related to the ending of Daylight Saving Time. Please select your option to learn more about how to correct each issue. 

  

My Garmin Connect app crashes when I try to open it on my Apple device

Garmin discovered and has fixed an issue that occurs when opening  with the Garmin Connect App that causes the app to crash when connected with the Apple HealthKit.  Garmin has released an updated version of the app that corrects this issue. You can update your app by selecting the App Store icon below and selecting the UPDATE button.

 

  

The time on my Garmin watch did not update with the end of Daylight Saving Time

Garmin watches can receive their time information from a few different sources:

      • Garmin Connect App via a smartphone
      • Garmin Express via a personal computer
      • GPS Satellites
      • Manual input by user

 

How do I correct the time on my device?

If the time on your watch did not update to reflect the ending of Daylight Saving time, select one of he following options to update the time:

 


Garmin Connect App:  If you have previously connected your Garmin device to your smartphone you can open the Garmin Connect app and sync your device.  Opening the app will kick off a data sync which should update the time on your device*

*vivofit users: Press and hold the button on your device until you see SYNC


 Garmin Express: Garmin Express is a program that is installed on a personal computer.  Connecting the Garmin device to your computer and setting it up to sync with Garmin Express will update the time on the device using the time from your computer. 


 Acquire a Satellite Signal: Some GPS devices will require you to acquire a satellite signal to update the time.  Access an activity profile like you would if you were going to record an outdoor activity.  Go outdoors and once the device has acquired a signal the time should be correct



The time on my device did not update with any of the options above.  What do I do now?

For many devices, there is a setting for the time source which can be set to manual. If the time source is set to manual it will not update using any of the above methods.  We recommend that you switch this setting to Auto allowing the device to update using one of the above methods.  Please refer to the Owner's Manual for specific information regarding this setting on your device.
