New FliteCharts Updates

Beginning in cycle 2407, effective July 11, 2024, Garmin is unveiling an update to FliteCharts® electronic procedure charts to improve the safety and efficiency of flight crews.

Screenshots of the changes as shown on the GTN™ 750 GPS/NAV/COMM/MFD touchscreen avionics:

  1. Garmin is adding Climb / Descent tables and Inoperative (Inop) Components charts to every airport in the US.

  2. Garmin is adding Airport / Facility Directory charts to almost every airport in the U.S. These will now be in the FliteCharts section with names such as “A/FD”, “A/FD PG 2”, etc. in the U.S. in the Information category.

  3. All chart names in the drop-down list will change to improve clarity.

    • For example, at the airport KATL, the STAR chart previously named VUUDU ONE (RNAV) CONT 1 will now be named VUUDU 1 ARR (RNAV) PG 2.

    • In another example at airport KATL, the approach chart previously named ILS PRM 09R will now be named ILS PRM RWY 09R (CLOSE PARALLEL).
  4. The Attention All Users Page (AAUP) provides the pilot with additional information relative to conducting a specific operation.  These charts will continue to be found in the Departure category, but they will be named after, and linked to, every applicable departure procedure. This results in more information being available in one place, which reduces the number of screens a user needs to reference.
    • An example is shown below using the BANNG THREE DEPARTURE (RNAV) from KATL.

    • The departure available for selection is the first screenshot.

    • The next two screenshots are the AAUP pages listed as BANNG 3 DEP (RNAV) PG 3 (AAUP) and BANNG 3 DEP (RNAV) PG 4 (AAUP), respectively.

    • Another example would be the ILS PRM RWY 09R (CAT II III) (CLOSE PARALLEL)
    • If needed, you can also find any AAUPs in the information category.  For example, at KATL, the information category contains the PRM AAUP, RNAV DP AAUP, RNAV DP AAUP PG 2 charts.
      • KATL_INFO_DP_AAUP
  5. The RADAR MINIMUMS charts have moved from being an information record for the chart named RADAR MINIMUMS to being an approach record for the chart.

    • Screenshots below are for airport KCMI and chart RADAR-1 ASR RWY 14L.

      • KCMI_RADAR_2
