ActiveCaptain® App Roles

Notes:
   • Chart registrations cannot be transferred between accounts. When selecting an owner of the device, make sure to enter the correct email address.
   • It is possible to be signed in to the same ActiveCaptain® account on up to two different smart devices. However, user data such as waypoints and routes will only appear in ActiveCaptain on both smart devices if they have synced with the chartplotter or fishfinder.

The features that can be used on the ActiveCaptain app with a chartplotter or fishfinder device will depend on the user role that was selected for the ActiveCaptain account: 

  • Owner accounts are for the owner of the marine device or the vessel it is being used on. They will be able to access all ActiveCaptain features on the smart device.

  • Guest accounts are for users who do not own the marine device or vessel, such as captains. They will not have access to certain features.

  • Dealer accounts are for the Dealer working on the equipment and vessel. They will not have access to certain features.
