Correcting Golf Club Stats in the Garmin Golf App and Garmin Connect
The Average Distance and Max Distance can sometimes report incorrectly for a specific club under Club Stats in the Garmin Golf™ app or in the Gear section on the Garmin Connect™ website. This data is pulled directly from your saved scorecards and more specifically from the hole-by-hole data recorded by AutoShot on your compatible Garmin® device.
NOTE: Garmin uses a proprietary calculation to achieve accurate club averages. We utilize a percentile system which allows us to more closely estimate the average distance for different clubs in your bag. Our calculation does automatically remove erroneous shot data with certain clubs such as half shots and misreads from the Garmin golf compatible device with the Approach® CT1 club tracking tags or Approach® CT10 club tracking sensors.
Correcting AutoShot Data
There are multiple ways to correct AutoShot data if enough erroneous shots skew the averages or provide an incorrect max distance. Review the options below to determine which best fits your scenario.
Review the hole-by-hole data in each scorecard until you locate the incorrect shot or shots that are causing the inaccurate data. This will most often present itself in the form of an abnormally high distance in the Max Distance category. Edit or remove that shot and that will correct the Max Distance for that club. For more details see - Editing AutoShot Information With the Garmin Golf App.
- Use the 'Exclude Scorecard from Stats' option within the Garmin Connect app or Garmin Connect website. In the instance where multiple shots are contributing to incorrect data from a single scorecard, this option can be selected in order to exclude all of the data from that individual scorecard. This option prevents that scorecard data from affecting the Average Distance and Max Distance categories. For more details see - Understanding Scorecards in the Garmin Golf App.
Can I Reset My Club Stats?
It is not possible to reset your club stats. However, you can delete a club from your club list and then add a new club of the same type. You will lose the historical data tied to the original club, but you will be able to start fresh with new club stats on the newly added club. See Add, Edit, or Remove Golf Clubs for Your Garmin Golf Product for more information.
