Setting up/Pairing Tread App Traffic

Live traffic information can be received through your compatible smartphone's data plan and can be sent instantly to your compatible device through the free Tread® App. This information allows your device to display and help you avoid slow traffic due to accidents, construction, or other obstacles.  

Installing and Pairing the Tread App 


First, it is necessary to install the free Tread app on your compatible smartphone and pair it with your device. See Tread App Compatibility and Availability for information on compatible mobile platforms.

The Tread app will automatically communicate with the device when the device and phone are powered on and in range of each other. 

Confirming Traffic Service 


Live traffic service should begin automatically after your device and phone have been connected with the Tread app.


To Confirm Your Device is Receiving Traffic From the Tread App: 

Tread®, Tread® - Base Edition, and Tread® Textron

1. Touch Settings

2. Touch Traffic

3. Garmin Tread® will display under Current Provider


Arctic Cat G8 Display, Kawasaki RIDGE 8" Tread Display, Tread® - Overland Edition, Tread® XL - Overland Edition, and Tread® - SXS Edition

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Traffic
  3. Garmin Live Traffic will display under Current Provider

  3. Verify the Traffic check box is selected.
