Replacement Wrist Bands for Descent X50i Dive Comptuer
If you need to change the bands on your Descent™ X50i dive computer you can follow the steps below.
Purchasing Replacement Bands
Replacement wrist bands can be ordered on the Garmin® website. The bands that fit your Descent X50i dive computer can be found using the links below. The Descent X50i is compatible with QuickFit 20 style watch bands, but does require two bands to securely fasten to your arm.
If the band has broken within 12 months of purchase, please contact our Product Support team and include your Garmin Connect account email address and the watch’s serial number (printed on the back of the watch or where the band attaches to the watch body).
Finding Bands at Garmin.com
Hover over or select the Sports & Fitness menu at the top of Garmin.com.
Select Diving.
Select the Descent X50i dive computer.
Click on Accessories.
Click on Dive Bands.
You will now see a list of compatible bands for your dive computer.
You can also use the search box located in the upper right-hand corner of the Garmin.com home page to search for your device.
Replacing the Band
You can replace the bands with new Descent X50i bands or Garmin QuickFit bands. See our video on how to change the bands, or follow the steps below.
Requirements
You will need:
Descent X50i dive computer
- Replacement band
NOTE: In addition to the elastic style band it came with, the Descent X50i dive computer is compatible with QuickFit® 20 style watch bands, but does require that you purchase two bands in order to securely fasten the dive computer to your arm.
Band removal tool that came with the device
Clean work space
Steps to Remove the Band
Use caution when removing the spring bars from the dive computer, as they are spring loaded.
Locate the holes on the outside of the arms securing the spring bar pins.
Insert the band removal tool into one of the holes.
Remove the pin as the tool compresses the end of the pin.
Repeat the above steps for the other spring bar pin.
Push the spring bar out of the sewn pocket in the band (if necessary).
If you need to remove both bands from the dive computer repeat the steps for the other band.
Installing a New Elastic Band
After removing a band follow the steps below to install a new elastic band.
Push one spring bar into the sewn pocket in the band near the plastic clip.
Insert the spring bar and band into the top position in the arm by compressing end of the spring bar pin.
Line up the strap.
Insert the second spring bar pin by lining up and compressing the end of the spring bar pin.
Confirm that the spring bars have been correctly installed by gently tugging on them.
Installing a QuickFit 20 Band
After removing a band follow the steps below to install a QuickFit style band.
Insert both spring bar pins into the holes in the arms on the dive computer.
Clip the QuickFit 20 bands to the pins.
Confirm that the band has been correctly installed by gently pulling on it.
