Turn by Turn Direction Features on my Garmin Outdoor Handheld
Your Garmin outdoor handheld is able to provide turn-by-turn directions via roads to desired locations.
This feature allows you to use your handheld similarly to our automotive devices, with a few differences.
Handheld devices using turn-by-turn directions will not provide the following:
- Traffic
- Lane View
- Junction View
- Spoken turn-by-turn directions1
- 3D Building view
- Foursquare POI’s
- Trip Advisor
In order to provide you with turn-by-turn directions, you need a compatible map that contains road routing data, such as our Topo 24K, HuntView, or City Navigator® map series. See Related below for more information.
1 GPSMAP® 276Cx, Monterra™, and Montana® 600 series outdoor handhelds can provide spoken turn-by-turn directions when connected to a speaker mount or when plugged into the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The Montana 700 series handhelds can give spoken directions when connected to a speaker mount or a wireless headset, but does not have a headphone jack. For speaker mount options, review the devices accessory options under the specific device product page of Garmin.com.
