Viewing the Compass on inReach Mini

The inReach® Mini handheld has a GPS compass for basic navigation.

The compass uses GPS to determine heading. To get a reading, you need to have a clear view of the sky and be moving at approximately 2-3 miles per hour. When stopped, or moving at speeds slower than 2 miles per hour, the compass may not function as intended. For more information, see Related.

  • If the page says Wait for GPS, the Mini has poor or no GPS signal
  • If the page has an icon of a person walking, you need to walk faster so the compass can get a reading

If you press the OK button from the Compass page, you will also reach the Units settings.
