"There are no data files in that folder…" Error When Using POI Loader

After selecting the location of the POI data files and clicking Next, Garmin POI Loader may display the following error: "There are no data files in that folder. Please specify a folder that contains at least one file with a CSV or GPX extension."

This error message occurs when the folder location selected in POI Loader does not contain any .csv or .gpx files. POI Loader relies on .csv and .gpx files for transferring data. These files will contain the latitude and longitude coordinates listed with any data describing the given locations.

Custom POIs are locations that are created by the user or downloaded from a web site in a .csv or .gpx format. The POI Loader program does not come with any custom POI files when installed.

If you receive this error message, make certain that the correct folder location is selected in POI Loader. It may help to save the .csv or .gpx files into a specific, easily found the folder and/or on your computer's desktop.
