Garmin Connect: Personal Records for Pool Swimming Activities

Your Garmin Connect™ account can display Personal Records (PRs) for swimming from watches that support Swim PRs. These PRs will display for the fastest time over certain distances while pool swimming.

Garmin Connect can display swimming PRs for the following distances:

  • 100 meters

  • 100 yards

  • 400 meters

  • 500 yards

  • 750 meters

  • 1000 meters

  • 1000 yards

  • 1500 meters

  • 1650 yards

  • Longest Distance

How Does This Feature Work on Watches That Record Swimming PRs?

Swimming PRs Must Be Set In a Single Interval Without Rests.

  • The 400 meter PR cannot be set by doing 4 X 100-meter intervals with rest intervals in between.

  • The Longest Distance PR is an exception: this PR is for the entire swim session, meaning there can be rest intervals during the Longest Distance PR. However, if there are rest intervals, the time for this PR will include the rest time.

Swimming PRs Can Be Recorded in either Yards or Meters.

  • A single activity cannot count towards both a PR in yards and meters. There is only one Longest Distance PR, displayed in the units of the pool size for the overall longest swim.

Pool Swim PRs Can Only Be Set by Swimming the Exact PR Distance.

  • This requires the activity to be completed in a pool that will allow for the exact PR distances. For example, a 100 meter PR cannot be set in a 17-meter pool because 100 is not a multiple of 17.

Swimming PRs Can Only Be Done in the Pool Swim Activity Profile.

  • PRs will not display for Open Water Swims.

How Does This Feature Work on Watches That Do Not Record Swimming PRs?
