Using the Surfline Widget With a Compatible Garmin Watch

This article will provide instructions to use the Surfline Widget on your compatible watch, listed below. With the Surfline Widget, you will have quick access to the five nearest beaches and their surf conditions. These conditions include surf rating, tide, wave height, and wind.

How Do I Install the Surfline Widget?

  1. Open the Garmin Connect IQ™ app.

  2. Select the Search tab.

  3. Select the Search All bar.

  4. Look up Surfline by Garmin.

  5. Select Install.

  6. Select Allow, if a permissions window populates.

The Surfline Widget will now sync content over to your Garmin watch.

How Do I Open the Surfline Widget?

To access the widget do the following:

  1. Navigate through the widget or glances loop on your Garmin watch.

  2. If the Surfline widget did not automatically show up in the loop you will need to enable it.

    • Access the menu on your Garmin watch.

    • Select Settings.

    • Select Widgets or Glances.

    • Select Add.

    • Locate and select Surfline.

    • Return to the watch face and navigate through your widget or glance loop again.

  3. Locate the new widget and select it to view details.

To remove or add a widget see your owner's manual.

How Do I Update the Location?

If the Surfline Widget does not provide the nearest beach from your location, try the following:

  1. Confirm you are paired and connected with the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Navigate to the Surfline widget / glance on your Garmin watch.

  3. Select the Surfline widget / glance.

  4. Select Update Beaches.

Surfline updates information twice a day once before sunrise and again in the afternoon.
