XMap 8 Crashes After Clicking Load Image on ImageReg Tab
If the Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2005 Redistributable has never been installed to a computer installed with XMap® 8 desktop software the XMap 8 program will crash during image registrations. Use the instructions below to correct this behavior.
Note: XMap Software has been discontinued. Support is now provided through documentation in the Support Center. XMap data format has not.
To Correct the Behavior
- Close XMap 8.
- Click here to download the Microsoft C++ 2005 Redistributable.
- After downloading choose to Run the vcredist_x86.exe program.
- When the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) installer window appears click Yes.
- If the User Account Control window appears click Yes.
- After the installation completes open XMap 8.
- Click the ImageReg tab.
- Click Load Image. The Open File dialog box will display.
- If the Open File dialog does not display and the XMap 8 program crashes, reboot the computer. If you are prompted to apply any updates prior to the reboot choose to accept all updates. Once the reboot completes start again at step 6.
