Creating a Waypoint with Coordinates on the eTrex SE or eTrex Solar

The eTrex® SE and eTrex Solar outdoor handhelds are capable of entering coordinates when marking a waypoint. This is done by marking a waypoint at your current location and editing the coordinates of that waypoint. The instructions below outline how to mark a waypoint and then edit the coordinates on an eTrex SE, but the steps will be the same for the eTrex Solar. 

Creating a Waypoint with Coordinates

1. Press and hold OK/ to mark a waypoint at your current location.

2. Press OK to open the options menu and select Edit.

3. Select the Coordinates field.

   

4. Press  or  to change a letter or digit.

   

5. Press OK to confirm and proceed to the next letter or digit.

   

6. Select Done when finished editing.

7. Make any other necessary changes to waypoint data fields, such as the name or icon.

8. Scroll down and select Done to save.

The waypoint is now updated with the new coordinates. When saved, you can find the waypoint in Saved.
