Temperature Accuracy and Update Rate for the tempe

While the observed accuracy of the tempe™ temperature sensor is often within 1 to 2 degrees, external factors such as body heat, direct sunlight, or hot pavement can affect the readings from the tempe sensor, as well as other temperature sensors to which it may be compared. For this reason, it is considered normal to see slight variations in readings between the tempe and other temperature sensors.

The tempe sensor can sense changes in temperature as often as once a second, but it is not typical for it to send updates this frequently to a connected device.

The process through which temperature changes are detected, filtered for irregularities, and sent to the device will typically take longer than one second. An exact time for this process is not available as it is dependent on many variables. Often changes are seen within 15-30 seconds.

Noting external factors and the probability of variable update rates will allow for proper expectations when using the tempe sensor.
