Installing Maps to the Computer Using Garmin Express

1. Connect the device to the computer

2. Open Garmin Express program

Windows: Open Garmin Express from the Windows Start menu, Start screen, or the Desktop shortcut icon

Mac: Launch Garmin Express from the Applications folder or Spotlight

3. Select a device

4. Click Check for Updates if a map update does not display

5. Click View Details

6. Click Installation Options

NOTE: Only City Navigator maps can be installed this way. Other map products like TOPO maps cannot be installed to the computer.

Click > to the left of Installation Options to expand the field

7. Select Computer and Device

8. Windows only - If necessary, click the Browse icon  to change the map install location

NOTES: This option to change the map install location is not available on all devices.

• Selecting a removable disk drive such as a memory card or USB flash drive is not recommended.
• If the map has previously been installed to an alternate location, the map must first be uninstalled from the computer before it can be reinstalled to the C: drive or to a different drive.

9. Click Install or Install All

10. Click Accept

11. Click Continue

The maps can be installed on the computer only if the device is already up to date.

2. Open Garmin Express program if the application does not start automatically

Windows: Open Garmin Express program from the Windows Start menu, Start screen, or the Desktop shortcut icon.

Mac: Launch Garmin Express program from the Applications folder or Spotlight.

3. Select a device

4. Click Map Details

• Skip this step if your device does not have a map update subscription.
• Map Details is only available if the maps on the device are up to date.

5. Click Map Options or Options

NOTE: Only City Navigator maps can be installed this way. Other map products like TOPO maps cannot be installed to the computer.

6. Windows only - If necessary, click the Browse icon  to change the map install location

9. Click Continue

After a successful installation, the map can now be used with compatible Garmin applications.
