How Do I Update the Maps on My Watch?
Along with updating your watch software, Garmin Express will automatically check for any map updates including TopoActive, SkiView and CourseView. In order to check for software updates and to apply any map updates, do the following:
IMPORTANT: If this is your first time using a computer with your watch, you will need to download and install Garmin Express.
- Connect your watch to your computer with the USB charging cable
- Launch Garmin Express
- Select your watch
- NOTE: If this is your first time using Garmin Express, see - Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Connect. If you are experiencing issues with Garmin Express not finding your watch see " "
- Garmin Express will then display the available updates. Select Install or Install All
- Review and accept any prompts for Terms and Conditions or Important Notes.
- Once complete, disconnect your watch from the computer and the watch will ask if you want to Install Now or Install Tonight. If you do not receive this prompt, or if you select "install tonight", you can still access the update from the System menu on the watch:
- From the main menu on the watch, select or scroll to Settings
- Select System
- Select Software Update
- Select Update Available
After the watch has installed the update, it will be ready to use.
My Garmin Watch is Not Recognized by Garmin Express
- Recognized by the computer but not by Express:
