Using Speed Alert Prompts with Custom POIs

The POI Loader application allows you to set a speed alert for custom points of interest (POI) on your automotive device.

When approaching a POI that has a speed alert, your device will give a continuous alert if that speed is exceeded, until the measured speed on your device declines and/or you have passed that location. The alert will be given when the device calculates your current location to be approximately 36 seconds away from the POI, based on your current speed.

When creating a speed alert in the POI Loader application, the location of the speed alert is considered an alert POI only. Files that contain speed information will not be considered destinations but may display as one.  The Go button will be grayed out and will not allow you to route to that destination.  In order to navigate to this location directly, a separate POI must be created at this location.
