Garmin Pilot Users Only:

A special option in Garmin Pilot™ aviation app can allow a phone or tablet to switch from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi for increased performance and advanced features such as Database Concierge.  Devices must be paired via Bluetooth first, before using Garmin Pilot to switch to internal Wi-Fi.  For best results, do not manually connect crew devices to the internal Wi-Fi network from the device settings page.  Garmin Pilot supports connection to GDL 60's internal Wi-Fi network from within the Garmin Pilot app once pairing is complete.

Process:

  1.  Establish a Bluetooth connection from your tablet/phone to the GDL 60.
  2.  Open Garmin Pilot and select the Connext icon at the top of the screen.
  3.  Select the prompt, Use Avionics Wi-Fi for better performance and functionality.
    • GP GDL 60 internal wi-fi
  1.  Select Join on the prompt to connect to the GDl 60's internal Wi-Fi network.
    • GP GDL 60 Join WiFi
  1.  Select the GDL 60 device page in Garmin Pilot to ensure that you are connected to the internal Wi-Fi.
