Finding the Unit ID or System ID on a Garmin Aviation Device

The serial number is printed or engraved on every unit and is necessary for registration and warranty purposes.

The Unit ID and System ID are internal numbers which are required for database updates and downloads. Each aviation database update is downloaded with the specific System ID or Unit ID for each GPS, therefore if the System ID or Unit ID is incorrect on fly.garmin.com, your aviation databases will not update correctly.

Use the steps below to determine the Unit ID or System ID of your device.
