My Rally Power Meter Pedals Is Not Displaying Cycling Dynamics Data

Cycling Dynamics data such as Right/Left Balance or Power Phase is data recorded by dual-sided Garmin power meter pedals.  If you are not seeing this data from your Rally pedals review the following for assistance.

Pedals Must Be Paired via ANT+ and Not Bluetooth

Cycling Dynamics data is only available over ANT+.  If you have paired your pedals via Bluetooth you will need to unpair and then pair your pedals via ANT+.  For more details see:  Best Practices for Connecting Sensors to Your Edge

Check the Battery in the Right Pedal to Make Sure It Is Not Dead

A quick test is to swap batteries from left (working) to right (not working) to confirm the pedal LED lights are flashing. For more info on changing batteries see: Replacing the batteries in Rally RS/RK/XC pedals.

Check to Ensure the Right Pedal Is Linked to the Left Pedal

The following steps will have you check and repair your right pedal with your left if necessary. This requires you to

  1. Rotate your pedals 3-4 times to make sure they are awake. The LEDs on both pedals will flash green 3 times indicating that its searching for the other pedal.
  2. Check the head unit you have paired the pedals with for additional information.
    • Edge Cycling Computer
      1. Spin your pedals a couple of rotations to wake them up.  Make sure you get a sensor connection alert on your Edge.
      2. From the Edge settings menu select Sensors
      3. Choose Power then select Sensor Details
      4. Note from the menu if there is an option to Pair or Link the right power sensor or pedal. If so choose this option.  You may need to scroll down to see this message.  If you only see the option to unlink then the pedals are paired.
    • Garmin Connect app
      1.  Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).
      2. Scroll down and select My Devices
      3. Select your Rally pedals
      4. Select Device Settings
      5. Under the Right Pedal, there is an option to Link / Unlink. Ensure the right pedal is linked.
