Changing the keel offset for a NMEA 2000 Garmin Intelliducer on a Garmin® Marine Chartplotter

The Keel Offset function adjusts the digital depth readout to display depth readings from either the waterline or from the the keel (lowest point) of the boat, instead of from the location of the transducer which is usually somewhere in between. The keel offset permits optimum transducer location and depth readouts suited to the vessel.

To change the keel offset on current versions of GPSMAP® chartplotters:

From any page press Options > Settings > Communications > NMEA 2000 Setup > Device List highlight the NMEA 2000 intelliducer select Review > enter the appropriate value for the keel offset. Ok to save.

The Keel Offset has been changed and reflected on the Sonar page. For legacy chartplotters see the owner's manual for assistance with keel offset. Finding the Owner's Manual for a Garmin Device
