Touchscreen issues with a GPSMAP 80/82xx series device

Power issues can cause touchscreen issues on the GPSMAP 80/82xx series device. Some possible issues could be not recognizing the touch or experiencing false touches in a dry environment.

If these issues are experienced, try the following:

• Ensure the negative (-) ground leads from the power cables of all devices are connected to the common ground reference.
• If multiple batteries or DC power supplies exist, ensure their negative (-) ground leads are connected to the common ground reference.
• Connect a ground strap between the GPSMAP 80/82xx device's chassis screw and the common ground reference.
• Ensure the GPSMAP 80/82xx device is connected to a "high quality" power supply or boat battery.
• If the GPSMAP 80/82xx device is connected to a power supply, connect it to a boat's battery instead to see if the problem disappears.
