Setting Up Correction and Range for Keep Away Tags

The optional Keep Away Tags can be used to keep your dog away from undesired locations, such as trash cans or flower beds. When paired to a Delta Smart™ and Delta InBounds™ with the Garmin Canine™ app, you can customize the settings for which type of correction you want to be applied and at what range.

NOTE: Effective September 1, 2022 the Garmin Canine app is no longer available to download from the play stores for either Android or Apple.

Setting the Correction

You can choose between tone, vibration or stimulation correction for each individual Keep Away Tag. You can also choose to have a combination of these correction types, i.e. tone and vibrate, vibrate and stimulation, tone and stimulation or all 3 options.

To set the correction options:

1. Open the Garmin Canine app
2. Touch Tags in the upper right
3. Touch the selected dog collar
4. Touch the desired Tag
5. Touch Change Correction
6. Select the desired options

After making these changes you will see a purple/red flash on the Delta Smart LED to verify the change was successful. 

Setting the Range

The Keep Away Tags also have adjustable range options. The range of the tag can be as little as 6 inches, or up to 15 feet (line of sight)*.  

To set the range:

1. Open the Garmin Canine app
2. Touch Tags on the top right
3. Touch the desired dog
4. Touch the desired Tag
5. Touch Adjust Distance
6. Use the up and down arrows to set the desired range

After making these changes you will see a purple/red flash on the dog device's LED to verify the change was successful. 

*The tags will have restricted range if inside a box or container.

NOTE: If you have multiple dogs ensure each tag has an individual correction set for the Keep Away Tag. All dog devices should have the same distance set for the same Keep Away Tag.
