(2024) Service Alert 24070 Rev A: Incorrect Above Ground Level (AGL) Data
PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
G3X Touch interfaced with GHA 15 units are affected.
ISSUE:
The GHA 15 may provide incorrect AGL data when flying through moderate or greater amounts of precipitation. The following G3X Touch system functions which use GHA 15 AGL data as an input may be affected:
- The AGL data field may be lower than the actual AGL.
- The Altitude strip may provide incorrect low ground level indication.
- ESP or ESP auto-LVL may be disarmed at an altitude higher than normal.
- Any logic signal driven gauge configured with an AGL height constraint.
ACTION:
The GHA 15 output is for reference only and is not certified for applications requiring a radar altimeter. Do not rely on the GHA 15 AGL as a primary source of height above ground information.
RESOLUTION:
The G3X™ Touch Pilot’s Guide (190-01754-00) will be revised to include this information.
