Discontinued Garmin Marine Chartplotters Map Compatibility
Some discontinued chartplotters still have compatibility with the newer BlueChart® g3 mapping. As the maps will continue to increase in size, devices currently compatible in future versions may become incompatible. The tables below will help determine what is available. The US All and Canadian West Coast chart exceeds the size limit for many older units. If the table lists regular or small regions, it would need to be smaller. Those maps are going to be a vision cards.
Device series incompatible with Large and Extra Large BlueChart g3, and/or no longer compatible with current LakeVu™ mapping products
The last version of BlueChart or LakeVu™ G2 charts was version 2018.52 which are no longer available through Garmin. The following devices were designed for use with BlueChart G2 and LakeVu G2 chart products and have limited and or no compatibility at all with some G3 chart products.

** The GPSMAP 7x1 series is not compatible with BlueChart g3 Vision charts.
L Chart: A "Large" (L) chart is designated with a "L" at the end of the chart number
Example: U.S., Boston, MA to Norfolk, VA Coastal Charts BlueChart g3 Vision VUS511L
The "L" at the end of VUS51L designates this particular chart as a Large chart
XL Chart: An "Extra Large " (X) chart is designated with an "X" at the end of the chart number
Example: Canada Coastal Charts BlueChart g3 HXCA600X
The "X" at the end of HXCA600X designates this particular chart as an Extra Large chart
