Use a North American Traffic Receiver in Europe for Free
There are a number of "free" traffic stations in Europe that North American Garmin traffic receivers can tune in to. Traffic receivers purchased in North America may have difficulty picking up the weaker European signal. Only the GTM 25, 26, 35, 36, and 60 receivers can use an antenna extension to help improve reception. To view compatibility and purchase an antenna extension cable, visit Antenna Extension Cable.
NOTE: The dēzl™ OTR610, dēzl™ OTR710, Garmin DriveCam™ 76, Garmin DriveSmart™ 66 with Amazon Alexa. Garmin DriveSmart™ 76 with Amazon Alexa, Garmin DriveSmart™ 86 with Amazon Alexa, RV 795, and the RVcam 795 would need a Mini USB to USB-C Adapter to connect the device to a GTM 36 or GTM 60 traffic receiver.
Although you can purchase subscriptions for European traffic from our website Traffic Subscriptions, some countries do offer free services. These free traffic services typically only provide information along motorways and toll roads and have less coverage than a paid subscription for the same area.
The Following European Countries are Known to Offer Free Traffic Services as Described Above:
- Austria

- Denmark
- France
