Adding G-Metrix Overlays and Gauges to Videos in VIRB Edit

Using the built-in GPS receiver and sensors, your camera can detect g-force, altitude, speed, orientation, and many other performance metrics. This data is saved automatically as G-Metrix data. The VIRB Edit program will allow you to add G-Metrix data to your videos in the form of overlays and gauges. Only video clips with G-Metrix data have the ability to add overlays and gauges.

Adding an overlay to your video:

  1. Import your video to VIRB Edit
  2. Right-click the video you want to edit
  3. Click Create Video or Edit
  4. Name the video
  5. Click G-Metrix
  6. Select a template

Each overlay can then be selected, moved, and resized or deleted to customize your video.

Adding individual gauges:

  1. Click gauges at the top of the G-Metrix menu from step 5 above
  2. Select the data you want to be displayed on the gauge from the drop-down menu
  3. Click and drag the gauge you want to your video

Each gauge can then be selected, moved, and resized or deleted to customize your video.

To change the units of this data:

  1. Click Menu
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click General
  4. Use the drop-down menus to select the desired units for each set of data
  5. Click Save

The units of data will now be changed.
