Instructions to Sync Spotify Content to a D2 Air or D2 Air X10 Watch

This article will provide instructions to use the Spotify app downloaded from the Connect IQ™ store on a Garmin D2™ Air or D2™ Air X10 watch.

Step 1: Initial Setup of the Spotify Connect IQ App on the Watch

The D2 Air and D2 Air X10 come preloaded with the Spotify app, but the following steps will need to be completed to set it up:

  1. Swipe the screen on the watch to the Music Widget.

  2. Press and hold the bottom right button.

  3. Select Music Providers.

  4. Select Spotify.

  5. You will now be prompted to open the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone.

  6. From the Garmin Connect app, enter your Spotify login details and select LOG IN.

  7. Review and agree to the terms by selecting AGREE.

  8. Return to your watch and select Get Started.

  9. Choose the option to Add music & podcasts.

From this point you will be able to choose saved Playlists, Recently played, Made for You, Workouts, or Podcasts. If you have not previously used Spotify for your music proceed to step 2 to get some music set up to send to your watch. 

Step 2: Selecting and Syncing Music and Content to the Watch

Content available to sync to your watch will be listed under Your Library from your Spotify account. This includes:

  • Playlists: Saved or created playlists

  • Recently Played: A list of tracks that you have recently played

  • Made for you: New Music and Daily Mixes based on your listening habits

  • Podcasts: Saved podcasts

To select this content to sync to your watch:

  1. Swipe the screen on the watch to the Music Widget.

  2. Select two vertical lines and one slanted line (Spotify Icon).

  3. Select Add music & podcasts.

    • If you need to update playlists you've previously downloaded, you can select Update Downloads.

  4. Choose a category then choose the content you want to sync to your watch.

The watch will now attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network to sync music. Syncing music will require a lot of battery power so we recommend plugging the watch into a charger near the Wi-Fi router for the best results.
