Creating and Editing Waypoints, Routes, Tracks, and Activities on the Garmin Explore Website
Waypoints, routes, tracks, and activities can be edited on the Garmin Explore™ website under the Map page. Waypoints and routes can also be created from the Map page.
Waypoints
You can create a waypoint using coordinates you already have, or by using the map itself.
Select Waypoints under Library from the left panel.
Select a waypoint to be taken to the waypoint location on the map.
Select the pencil icon in the waypoint bubble on the map to begin editing. NOTE: The selected waypoint to edit needs to be visible on the map. If the waypoint is not visible, toggle visibility for the waypoints. For more information on how to toggle visibility, see - Showing and Hiding Items on the Garmin Explore Website Map.
All fields with a red box can be edited. Make any desired changes.
The waypoint flag will also be in a pink dashed box, this allows the waypoint to be dragged to a different area on the map.
NOTE: The Coordinate System can be changed under the Account tab, then the Units subtab.
Click to save changes.
Quickly Edit Waypoint Icons
Waypoint symbols can be quickly edited individually or in bulk.
Select Waypoints under Library from the left panel.
Select a waypoint. NOTE: Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) then click to select multiple items. Hold Shift then click one item in the list, then click another item in the list to quickly select the selected items and everything between.
Select the pencil icon to edit. NOTE: If multiple waypoints were selected, you only need to select the pencil icon next to one of the selected waypoints.
Select the desired waypoint icon from the list.
Select Change to confirm the change.
NOTE: If multiple waypoints were selected, the icon will change for all selected waypoints.
Routes
There is a 200-point limit per route to consider. To help better control the amount of points in each route, it is a good idea to break them up. For example, if the route needs to be spread out across multiple days, create one route per day and rename them Day 1, Day 2, and so on. When creating or editing a route, make sure to save your progress every few minutes.
NOTE: When using the zūmo® XT2 GPS navigator, Tread® GPS Navigator and all models in the Tread® series, it is recommended to use the Tread® App for creating and managing waypoints, routes, and tracks. The Garmin Explore website can be used to manage waypoints and tracks, but does not support route creation for the zūmo XT2 and Tread devices.
A tiny white box indicates a route point and a red dotted line follows.
Click on the map to create additional route points.
You can press and hold your right mouse button to drag the map around, if needed.
Once you have at least two track points, a red solid line connects the points together.
Additional points can be added to a route by clicking any of the points other than the start or end point, once added they can then be moved around via click + drag.
Click on the last route point when finished.
The route bubble on the map allows you to edit the route name or route color.
