Changing the Wi-Fi Connection for an Index Smart Scale Series

You can return an Garmin Index™ smart scale or Index™ S2 smart scale to setup mode to change your Wi-Fi® connection at any time. Confirm your new network meets our requirements listed in What Are the Wi-Fi Requirements for an Index Smart Scale Series? If your network meets the requirements, choose your scale model below for instructions.


Index Smart Scale

  1. Wake up the scale.

  2. On the underside of the scale, select RESET.

  3. Wait a few second for the scale to turn off.

  4. The wireless indicator lights on the screen flash to indicate the device is ready to set up.

  5. Remove the Index Smart Scale from Garmin Express™ or the Garmin Connect™ app:

  6. Proceed with setting up the Index Smart Scale again to save a new Wi-Fi connection.


Index S2 Smart Scale

NOTE: Returning the device to setup mode does not delete any user information from the device. Only the device owner can add Wi-Fi networks

  1. Open the Garmin Connect™ app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select the Index S2.

  5. Select General.

  6. Select Wi-Fi Networks.

  7. On the underside of the scale, select RESET.

    NOTE: Be sure not to hold the RESET button for more than a second as this may reset the scale to defaults and require you to set up the device again.

  8. Wait a few second for the scale to turn off.

  9. The scale will power up in Bluetooth Pairing Mode.

  10. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to add your Wi-Fi network.

You can add up to 7 Wi-Fi networks on the Index S2 Smart Scale.
