My Garmin Golf GPS Watch or Handheld Automatically Selects a Course when Starting a Round

Several Garmin® golf GPS watches and devices have an automatic course selection feature. When starting a round of golf, the device will acquire GPS to determine the nearest courses.

  • If there is only one course found within a 2.5 mile (about 4 kilometer) radius of your current location, it will automatically be selected and the round will start on the device.
  • When multiple courses are found in a 2.5 mile radius, they will all be displayed and you can select the course you are playing.
  • If no course is found within 2.5 miles of your location, the search range will expand to 50 miles (about 80 kilometers). You will then be able to select the course you are playing from the list.
