Noise Coming out of the Composite Video Source of a GPSMAP 8000 Series

If video noise is viewed on a composite video source connected to a GPSMAP 8xxx series device, it could be an issue with a ground loop in the composite video cable.

If this issue is occurring, try the following steps:

• Ensure the negative (-) ground leads from the power cables of all devices are connected to the common ground reference.
• If multiple batteries or DC power supplies exist, ensure their negative (-) ground leads are connected to the common ground reference.

If unable to solve the issue by the aforementioned recommendations, install a composite video isolation transformer to block the ground loop.
