Garmin Dash Cam 10 or 20 Detecting Too Many or Too Few Events

If the Garmin Dash Cam 10 or 20 is detecting too many or too few events, make sure that you have calibrated the event detection sensor correctly. The Garmin Dash Cam must be fully mounted and in the position desired before performing the calibration.

To calibrate the event detection sensor:

  1. Press the button under the Settings icon 
  2. Press the button under the down arrow
  3. Press the button under OK when Event Detection is highlighted
  4. Press the button under OK when G Sensor Reset is highlighted
  5. Press the button under Reset

The event detection sensor will now be calibrated.

The sensitivity of the event detection sensor can also be adjusted to record more or less events. Event detection can also be disabled entirely, if desired.

To adjust the event detection sensitivity or disable event detection on the Dash Cam 10 and 20:

  1. Press the button under the Settings icon 
  2. Press the button under the down arrow
  3. Press the button under OK when Event Detection is highlighted
  4. Press the button under OK when Event Detection Setup is highlighted
  5. Use the buttons under the up and down arrows to adjust the sensitivity, then press OK when the desired choice is highlighted

The desired setting will appear to the right of the Event Detection Setup text. If Off is selected in this menu, event detection will be disabled.
