You choose who can see the details of your Garmin Connect profile. However, your display name and profile picture will always be visible to everyone.
Activities
New activity details and daily summary details (step data, all-day heart rate, etc) will default to the privacy level you choose here. The fitness and health data shared may include your heart rate and activity location. You can change the privacy on any of these individually by selecting the lock icon in the top right of the activity summary or daily summary pages.
The Custom option allows you to set different privacy levels for different activities. For example, you could set your walks to "Only Me" but set your cycling activities to "Everyone".
Selecting "Updating Past Activities" allows you to update the privacy level for all previous activities or you can select to change the privacy level for specific activity types by selecting the Custom option.

Storage & Processing
You can opt-out of Garmin data storage and processing and have your data deleted. When opted in Garmin processes your personal data to provide many of the features in our apps and websites.
Device Upload
This allows you to upload data from your Garmin device to Garmin Connect. If you turn this setting off, any new data will not be uploaded. You can still upload data that you enter manually or track through third-party apps. You also will receive device software updates and can send data such as workouts or profile information from Connect to your Garmin device.
Garmin Coach
When using Garmin coach, we provide workouts tailored for your speed based on your ability. This feature relies on uploaded health and activity data from our users to improve the training plans and make a better experience for all users. Your personal data is never shared with others.
Insights
When you use Insights, we send you motivational messages and suggestions to help you reach your goals, and you can see how you compare to the Connect community. Garmin Connect uses your uploaded health and activity data to provide Insights to you, but your personal data is never shared with others.
LiveTrack
This feature uses GPS data from your device to let friends and family track your activities in real-time. The data from LiveTrack can also be used for your device safety features. Anyone with your LiveTrack link can see your location and data.
Popularity Routing
Garmin Connect gathers anonymously contributed route data to create a model of where the Garmin Connect community is most active. This data is used to build popularity heatmaps to help you find the most used routes, and to generate the most popular route when you need help creating new courses. Popularity heatmaps are available on some of our map features. They are overlaid on the map, so you can easily see which paths, roads, sidewalks or trails are used the most. When you want to create a new course near you, or when you're traveling and want to plan a workout, you can use this same data to automatically create a full or partial course in frequently used areas.
Product Improvement
Garmin uses confidential data from customers like you to continuously improve our products. Your data will remain secure and protected, and we will not publish or share any of it with others. Real customer data is critical to our product improvement process. For example, location data lets us improve GPS accuracy. Health and fitness metrics help us enhance existing features and create new ones. You can choose to start or stop sharing your data with us for product improvement at any time.
