Firmware update will not install on my Edge device
Firmware updates for Edge devices can be installed a number of different ways depending on which model you have. The most common way to check for and install firmware updates is through the Garmin Express program.
In the event that you have downloaded a firmware update that will not install onto the device, ensure that the battery on the device is adequately charged. Devices that are low on charge will not install updates to prevent interruption while installing the update.
If you have any of the following devices that do not prompt you to install a firmware update that you have downloaded and the battery is fully charged, you will need to perform a master reset and re-download the firmware update via Garmin Express in order to be prompted to install the update.
- Edge 520 (running 7.00 or 7.10 firmware)
- Edge 820 (running 3.10 or 3.20 firmware)
- Edge Explore 820 (running 3.10 or 3.20 firmware)
- Edge 1000 (running 9.00 or 9.10 firmware)
