Deleting Data from a Professional Flex Account Website

At times data may need to deleted from an inReach® account. This article walks you through deleting different types of data, and provides steps for both administrators and users of inReach Professional accounts. 

IMPORTANT: Any data deleted from a Garmin Explore™ account is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Only delete data that is unwanted and unneeded.

Follow the instructions below to delete data sent to or entered on an account at the Garmin Explore website.

Administrator Account

Select an option below if you are logged in as the administrator of your inReach Professional account.


Deleting from Library

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.
  2. Select Map.
  3. Select your Admin User.
    NOTE: When logged in to the administrator account, you can delete messages and tracks for other users. Other data types such as waypoints and routes for other users cannot be deleted.
  4. Select a library data category.
    Professional Account Admin Library
  5. Select the item to delete.
    NOTE: Hold down Shift or Ctrl on your keyboard to select multiple items to be deleted.

  6. Select Trash Can Icon next to the item's name.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.
    Confirm Deletion
    NOTE: If the item you are attempting to delete is listed in a Collection, the item will also be deleted from that Collection.

Deleting from Inbox

Select an option below for steps on deleting items from your inbox.

Delete a Single Message Thread

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.
  2. Select My Info.
  3. Select the Inbox.
  4. Under People, select the contact thread to delete messages from.
  5. Select Trash Can Icon next to the message to be deleted.
  6. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected message will now be deleted.


Delete Conversation Threads

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.
  2. Select My Info.
  3. Select the Inbox sub-tab.
  4. Under People, select the contact thread to delete messages from.
  5. Select TrashCanIcon to remove the entire conversation thread for that person
  6. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected conversation thread will now be deleted.

Deleted items may reappear after syncing your inReach. If this is happening, refer to the Related Content at the bottom of this article.


User Account

Select an option below if you are logged in as a user on an inReach Professional account.


Deleting from Library

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.
  2. Select Map.
  3. Select your User.
    Pro User Account Select User

    NOTE: You can only delete your own user data. You can view other user's messages and tracks, but other user's data cannot be deleted.
  4. Select a library data category.
  5. Select the item to delete.
    NOTE: Hold down Shift or Ctrl on your keyboard to select multiple items to be deleted.

  6. Select Trash Can Icon next to the item's name.

  7. Select Delete to confirm.
    Confirm Deletion
    NOTE: If the item you are attempting to delete is listed in a Collection, the item will also be deleted from that Collection.

Deleting from Inbox

Select an option below for steps on deleting items from your inbox.

Delete a Single Message Thread

1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

2. Select Inbox.

3. Under People, select the contact thread to delete messages from.

4. Select Trash Can Icon next to the message to be deleted.

5. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected message will now be deleted.


Delete Conversation Threads

1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

2. Select Inbox.

3. Under People, select the contact thread to delete messages from.

4. Select Trash Can Icon to remove the entire conversation thread for that person.

5. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected conversation thread will now be deleted
