How to Change a Waypoint into a Shaping Point on an Automotive Device

Shaping points allow you to "shape" a custom route to your preference on an automotive device. You may insert a shaping point (up to 125 per route) into a custom route to direct your device to use a specific street in navigating to your destination.

To Change a Waypoint Into a Shaping Point on a Saved Route:

1. Open a saved route using the Route Planner App

2. Touch the List box

3. Touch the icon to the left of an intermediary point (orange flag) you wish to change into a shaping point

• • The icon will change to a blue dot, indicating a shaping point

4. Touch Yes to the message 'Duration and arrival times will be removed. Change to shaping point?'

5. The device will calculate the route. Repeat step 2 for all additional points you wish to change

• • Start and end points cannot be changed

To Change a Waypoint Into a Shaping Point on a New Route:

1. After waypoints have been added to the route on the map, touch a waypoint (orange flag) you wish to change to a shaping point

2. Touch the shaping point icon

3. The device will calculate the route

4. Touch the check mark icon after editing

5. Touch the save icon when editing is finished

6. If necessary, type a name for the new route and press Done

7. A new route with shaping points is now saved to the Route Planner.
