Error "The Backup File Is Invalid or Read Only" in BaseCamp™
Garmin BaseCamp™ software allows you to back up all data, lists, and folders, to a single archive file.1 If you attempt to save the backup file to an alternate external location, such as a network drive or external hard drive, you will encounter the following error message:
The backup file '[full filepath name]' is invalid or read only
If you wish to save the backup file to an external location, you will need to save the file to the hard drive of the computer first, and then transfer the file from the computer to the desired alternate external location.
