Garmin GPS 152/152H Software Update
Garmin periodically updates the internal operating system of devices to improve performance and correct issues.
To update the GPS 152 or GPS 152H, an AC/PC adapter (7 pin) will need to be used. Garmin no longer sells this cable.
If the PC that is being used does not have a serial port, a Serial to USB converter cable will also be required.
Please backup any user data like waypoints, routes, and tracks as the update may erase this information. for help with backing up user data, please review the related content
Once the device is powered on and connected to the PC, please visit the link below to download an update for the specific device.
There are instructions at the bottom of this webpage to help install the update onto the device.
The device will now be up to date. If the user data was erased during the update, it can be sent back to the device from MapSource.
