If your Instinct® Solar series watch turns off or restarts when starting an activity or checking Pulse Ox, make sure your software is up to date. Follow the instructions below on how to check for software updates.

Installing Software Updates

Garmin Connect™ App

The Garmin Connect app will download software updates automatically behind the scenes while your device is connected to your mobile phone. There are no steps required for you to take to get the latest software. Generally, any released updates will take up to a week to download before automatically, or prompting, to install on your device. 

Search for, and download, the Garmin Connect app in your phone's application store to get started. For more information on the Garmin Connect app, see - Garmin Connect app on Garmin.com.

Garmin Express™ Software

Garmin Express software provides the ability to check for, and download, software updates each time you connect your device to the computer.

If the recommended troubleshooting steps did not resolve the issue for your Instinct Solar series watch, it will need to be replaced by Garmin.
