An Irregular Noise Coming from My FLUX Series Smart Trainer

A FLUX Smart trainer may generate a noise that is out of the ordinary. 

Cracking Sound

If you hear a cracking sound coming from the bike trainer while cycling, see below for two possible reasons causing these sounds.

Freehub Body Maintenance:

Greasing the freehub can solve most cracking sounds. Refer to "Freehub Greasing" in the following FAQ:  Maintenance and Care for the FLUX and FLUX S Smart Trainer.

Cassette Assembly:

In some cases the cracking sound is caused by the cassette assembly that is loose. Make sure the cassette is assembled tight by tightening the lock ring.

Squeaking Sound

If you hear a squeaking sound coming from the bike trainer while cycling, it may simply be a dry belt and the noise should dissipate after a few rides. This is more common if the trainer hasn't been used in a long time.
