Fusion® MS-BB300 Power Troubleshooting
If the NRX300 remote does not respond to inputs or displays an error message, the BB300 PWR status light needs to be checked.
Fusion BB300 Status Lights and Descriptions
Status Light | Description |
---|---|
Green | Good power, normal operation |
Yellow | Network error, check network power and connections |
Red | Protection mode, disconnect from power for 20 minutes and test power source |
If the status light is GREEN then the BB300 is operating normally. Update the software and check the NMEA 2000 connections.
If the status light is YELLOW then there is a communication issue. Check the NMEA 2000 connections. The NMEA 2000 Troubleshooting article will detail how to test the NMEA 2000 network and Connecting a Fusion Stereo to a Wired Remote will provide examples of various network configurations that will work.
If the status light is RED then there is a power issue. Using a voltmeter, check the power readings at the following points and verify the voltage reads at least 12vDC:
At the power cable plug
At the bus bar or fuse block
At the battery
If the readings are correct, then disconnect all wiring and allow the devices to sit for 20 minutes. Reconnect the NRX remote, power and ground to the BB300 and power the system on.
If the unit powers on then reconnect the rest of the system one device at a time and test the system after each one
If the unit does power on, then the BB300 will need to be replaced
If the readings are not correct, then troubleshoot the power source and load test the system to check that adequate amperage is available.
If either the MS-BB300 or the MS-NRX300 has been exchanged, the remote will need to be assigned to the stereo.
- Apply power to the MS-BB300 and the NMEA 2000 Network and turn the Fusion system on
- Once turned on press the Source button on the MS-NRX300
- The MS-NRX300 will state Finding Stereos and the MS-BB300 will appear on the MS-NRX300
